Ok originally I thought I would write a little thing every month but it’s been a minute so what have I been up to since my last post? If you didn’t know, I’m surprised.
I broke my ankle the last week of April and it became my entire identity. Long story short, something happened, I was then in need of mending, and now I’m much better. As long as you don’t look closely everything is pretty much exactly the same as it was before. Some might say stronger than ever???
Anywho, lots of down time gave me lots of time for reflection, and once the healing started happening, I went back to work on blasting out the remainder of my production client sewing which has now wrapped up. Once those projects are installed and photographed I’ll be shouting from the rooftops further about my hard work. I can’t wait to see everything in its final form, I’m really proud of it all.
October marks the 10th year (10!!!) of NESST. Summer 2014 in my boyfriend’s kitchen I said ‘I have this idea for a project I want to do...I’m going to name it NESST’. I had a *very* clear, unflinching vision of what I wanted to make, and I spent way more money than I could afford on fancy woven tags to put in my products. I had about 30 followers on the internet with no desire to market myself in any capacity whatsoever. I just wanted to make the stuff and I was so happy and stoked to do it.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of my precious project NESST, I made new tags and will be using these on a mini clothing collection that I’ll be putting out into the world October 2024, all from vintage, secondhand or repurposed fabric.
The initial collection will be small, the roll out casual. Nothing about my business model is scaleable and that is completely intentional. slow growth, baby!
Thanks for tuning in and however long and in whatever capacity you’ve been rocking with NESST over the last 10 years, i love you.
Happy Anniversary Nesst!! Here’s to as many years as you want - or not ;) 🥂
