Each time I see an email come through that I have a new order, I gasp. If it’s an order from someone I never met I spend the evening thinking, wow! How did they even find me?? Incredible. When I pack up orders I genuinely say goodbye to the item that I’m shipping as I’m both excited for its new journey and kinda sad to see it go.
The stats don’t lie…if you have more items to sell, you’ll make more sales. I’m not too interested in playing the numbers game. It’s not a goal of mine to increase sales or scale my production, wild I know. It’s hard to explain this to folks who are excited to show support and good to remind myself when I get caught in the frenzy of the attention economy. But it is important to me. Each drop is intentionally tiny and each drop is really, really special to me.
I have just a few shirts left from the spring drop and right now am offering free shipping through the end of June. Maybe one of these is for you to wear this Summer on a very special occasion or maybe it’s a regular day and you’re the special occasion.
To everyone who has ever bought anything from me just know I really truly mean it when I say your order was packed with care. I buckle them up when driving them to the post office and do a little Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally as I drop each package one by one in the mail room at the post office.
